The Pools at Tuckahoe

Tuckahoe features four pools, including a 25-yard indoor pool that’s open year-round, even during summer thunderstorms! Enjoy our heated 25-meter outdoor pool, dedicated lap lanes, a waterslide, and a diving well with both three- and one-meter boards. With shaded seating and additional Intermediate and Baby pools, there’s something for everyone at Tuckahoe!

Indoor Pool

Tuckahoe’s 25-yard indoor pool is open year-round, allowing members to lap swim, enjoy open swim with friends, participate in water aerobics or group swim classes, and receive private lessons. The pool is conveniently located near the locker rooms, saunas, gym, whirlpool, and steam room. Please note that all lap lanes may be shared with other swimmers. Enjoy the full range of our aquatic programs in this versatile space!

Outdoor Pools

Main Pool

Tuckahoe’s 8-lane, 25-meter outdoor pool is heated and open year-round (except when temperatures drop below 35 degrees). It includes lap lanes, space for open swim, a waterslide, and a diving well with 1m and 3m springboards. Enjoy plenty of seating around the pool to soak up the sun!

Intermediate Pool

Tuckahoe’s intermediate pool is 3½ feet deep, making it an ideal space for young children just starting to learn how to swim. This pool is fully fenced for safety and features seating under a sun canopy for added comfort.

Baby Pool

Tuckahoe’s baby pool is 1½ feet deep, making it a perfect spot for our youngest members! Fully fenced for safety, it also features seating under a sun canopy for parents and caregivers.

Water Aerobics

Tuckahoe’s co-ed Water Aerobics classes offer a low-impact, total body workout suitable for everyone. Led by professional instructors, these classes focus on improving cardiovascular endurance, strength, and mobility while accommodating any natural limitations.

Laura Deisz, our long-standing and popular instructor for morning classes, welcomes both members and non-members to kickstart their day with guided movement in the water. Classes run year-round, and your first class is FREE! After that, you can purchase a pack of tickets and use one ticket per class. Join us for a refreshing and energizing experience!

Big Cats Swim Program

Big Cats offers a fun group workout for adult swimmers, providing the chance to train as a team with coaching aimed at improving everything from general lap swimming to personal competitive goals. Led by our Aquatic Director and Head Swim Coach, Torey Ortmayer, workouts are available year-round and focus on various aspects, including aerobic endurance and anaerobic race pace training.

Our sessions incorporate all four strokes and introduce advanced training methods using kick, scull, drills, and more. Whether you’re new to lap swimming or looking to enhance your skills, we’ll meet you at your level and help you progress at your own pace.

We practice in our heated outdoor pool, and your first practice is free! After trying it out, we’re confident you’ll want to purchase a pack of tickets and become a regular member of the team!

Tuckahoe Water Polo

Tuckahoe offers a weekly drop-in water polo opportunity for both members and guests. This program is free for all members who are confident swimmers and interested in learning basic ball skills and movement techniques, along with gameplay and situational drills.

Practices run the length of the pool in 5 lanes, from shallow to deep, and focus on the following skills:

Basic movements, including swimming with your head up and treading water (egg beater)

Ball control and moving with the ball

Passing and shooting

Positioning for attacking and defending in game situations

Full pool scrimmage (depending on attendance) and half-tank gameplay

This is a fantastic chance to engage in a fun sport that requires little to no prior experience while getting a great aerobic workout. Our goal is to create a welcoming environment for kids and adults to discover and grow their interest in water polo!

Practices are loosely organized by experienced former players and coaches who will help you learn everything you need to know while using official balls and goals. All you need is a well-fitting swimsuit—we’ll provide the rest!
